General Instructions:
Timings: Please be present at the Baldoyle Badminton Centre on Saturday, 1st February 2025, by 08:30 AM
sharp.
Teams arriving after 09:00 AM will be considered a "No Show," and the opposing team will be awarded full
winning points for that game.
Equipment:
Racquets: Players must bring their own racquet. Racquets will not be provided by the organizing team.
Shuttles: Shuttles will be provided by the organizing team.
Clothing: Please wear appropriate sportswear. A comfortable, stretchable T-shirt paired with comfortable shorts
or track pants is recommended.
Shoes: Court/Indoor (non-markable) shoes are mandatory.
Facilities:
Water & Snacks: One water bottle will be provided per player. Light snacks, such as two bananas per player,
will be provided on the day.
First Aid: Basic first aid will be available at the centre. However, please carry any necessary personal
medications if you have specific medical requirements.
Game Format:
The event will be divided into 3 groups:
- Expert
- Intermediate
- Mixed Doubles
Each group will have subgroups.
Match Format:
Matches will follow a Round Robin format. After Round Robin, the top teams from each group will advance to
the Semifinals and Finals.
- Expert Group: 2 courts will be assigned.
- Intermediate Group: 2 courts will be assigned.
- Mixed Doubles: 1 court will be assigned.
Match Rules:
- In the Round Robin phase, each team will play 2 sets of 21 points per match.
- If the score is tied 1-1 after two sets, a third set will be played to determine the winner.
- In case of a tiebreaker to decide the top 2 teams in the Round Robin phase, an extra point will be
awarded to the team that wins the first set.
- The Semifinal and Final will be a single match played as best of 3 sets (21 points per set).
Badminton Tournament: Terms & Conditions and Rules
- Tournament Format: The tournament will follow a Round Robin format, where each team/player will compete against every other team/player in their group.
- Dates & Venue: The tournament will take place on 1st Feb 2025 at Baldoyle Badminton Centre Leinster Badminton.
- Registration Deadline: All players/teams must register by 25th Jan 2025.
- Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee of 18 EUR per person is required to participate,
- Team Composition: Only a Team of 2 is allowed to participate in the event so you are required to book 2 Tickets 18 EUR each total 36 EUR. – All team members must be registered with the tournament.
- Confirmation: Players will receive confirmation upon successful registration and payment , The organisers will also send the the saperate email nearing the event max by 15th Jan 2025
- Sportsmanship: All participants must demonstrate good sportsmanship. Unsportsmanlike conduct, such as arguing with referees, using offensive language, or intentionally delaying the game, may result in disqualification.
- Respect for Referees: Decisions made by referees are final. Disputing calls is not allowed.
- Forfeited Matches: If a player/team fails to appear at the designated time, the match will be considered a forfeit, and the opposing team will be awarded win.
- Withdrawals: If a player/team withdraws from the tournament for any reason, the organizers must be notified immediately. Registration fees will not be refunded.
- Player Responsibility: Players must ensure they are physically fit to participate. It is recommended to consult a healthcare provider before entering the tournament.
- Injury Protocol: If a player is injured, the match will be paused, and the player must decide whether to continue. If unable to continue, the match may be forfeited.
- Hydration & Breaks: Players should stay hydrated and may take a break between games if needed.
- Badminton Rackets and Shuttlecocks: Players must bring their own rackets. The organizers will provide shuttlecocks.
- Appropriate Attire: Proper sportswear and non-marking indoor shoes are required.
- Permission for Photos and Videos: By participating, players agree that tournament organizers may use images or video footage of the event for promotional purposes.
8. Liability and Insurance
- Personal Liability: Players participate at their own risk. The tournament organizers will not be held responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property during the event.
- Insurance: Participants are encouraged to obtain their own health and accident insurance.
- Changes to the Schedule: The tournament organizers reserve the right to make changes to the schedule, format, or rules as necessary. Participants will be notified of any such changes.
- Code of Conduct: All participants, spectators, and staff must adhere to the tournament’s code of conduct and demonstrate respect for all players and officials.
- Disqualification:*Any player/team found violating the terms and conditions or tournament rules may be disqualified from the event without refund.
